Terms and Conditions

Jack in a Box Moving LLC
Effective date: October 9, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of www.jackinaboxmoving.com (the "Site") and to any moving, packing, or related services you book with Jack in a Box Moving LLC ("Jack in a Box Moving," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or booking a service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.

Your move is also governed by the written Contract for Service you sign before work begins. If anything in these Terms conflicts with your signed Contract for Service, the Contract for Service controls.

1. About Us and Regulation

Jack in a Box Moving LLC is a moving company based in Castle Rock, Colorado. Household goods movers in Colorado are regulated by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC). You can contact the PUC with questions at puc.colorado.gov or 303-894-2070. Our services are for moves within Colorado unless we agree otherwise in writing.

2. Our Services

We offer local moving, two-mover and three-mover crews, packing and wrapping, and Assisted Moving Support for income-qualified customers. Service descriptions, crew sizes, rates, and minimum hours are shown on the Site at the time of booking and confirmed in your Contract for Service.

3. Contract for Service and Consumer Advisement

As required by Colorado law, before we begin work you will receive and sign a written Contract for Service listing our contact information, your move date and addresses, an itemized description of our rates and services, and the forms of payment we accept. You will also receive a Colorado Consumer Advisement explaining your rights, which you will be asked to sign and date. We will not start work until both are signed.

4. Rates, Estimates, and Charges
  • Hourly rates: Services are billed at the hourly rate for the service and crew size you book. Each service has a minimum number of hours, shown at booking. After the minimum, time is billed in 15-minute increments.

  • Billable time: Unless your Contract for Service says otherwise, billable time begins when our crew arrives at your first location and ends when the last item is unloaded and placed at your final location, including drive time between locations.

  • Estimates: Any estimate we give is based on the information you provide. Your final price may change if you add items or services, if access at either location is different from what you described (for example, stairs, long carries, elevators, or parking), or if your pickup or delivery date changes. We will tell you before performing additional work that changes your price.

  • Materials and extras: Packing materials, specialty items, and other add-on services are charged as listed in your Contract for Service.

5. Booking, Rescheduling, and Cancellation

Your move is reserved once your booking is confirmed by us. Please give us at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hours' notice, or a crew arriving to find you unready or unavailable, may result in a fee equal to the service's minimum charge, as stated at booking or in your Contract for Service. We may reschedule because of unsafe weather, road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control, and we will work with you to find a new time.

6. Payment

Payment is due in full when the work is completed, unless otherwise stated in your Contract for Service. The forms of payment we accept are listed in your Contract for Service. Unpaid balances may be subject to collection and the costs of collection as permitted by law.

7. Your Responsibilities
  • Be present, or have an authorized adult present, at pickup and delivery.

  • Have items packed and ready if you are packing yourself, and tell us about any heavy, fragile, or high-value items before the move.

  • Arrange parking for our truck and any elevator or building reservations, and give us accurate access information.

  • Remove, secure, or personally transport the items we do not move (see Section 8).

  • Empty and disconnect appliances, and empty drawers of fragile or loose items, unless we have agreed to do this.

  • Do a final walk-through at each location before our crew leaves.

8. Items We Do Not Move

For safety and legal reasons, we do not transport hazardous or flammable materials (gasoline, propane, paint, chemicals, ammunition, fireworks, and similar items), perishable food, plants, pets, or illegal items. We strongly recommend that you personally transport cash, jewelry, important documents, medications, firearms, and items of high personal or sentimental value. We are not responsible for these items if you leave them with your shipment.

9. Liability for Your Belongings

We handle every move with care. If an item is lost or damaged while in our care, our liability is limited to the valuation coverage stated in your Contract for Service. Unless you select a different coverage option, basic coverage is $0.60 per pound per article. We are not liable for:

  • Damage to the contents of boxes packed by you, unless the box itself shows external damage

  • Damage to particleboard or pressboard furniture, or items with pre-existing damage or weakness

  • The mechanical or electrical function of appliances and electronics, unless caused by our negligence

  • Items not listed on or loaded under your Contract for Service

  • Loss or damage caused by events outside our control, such as severe weather, fire, or acts of authorities

We protect floors, doorways, and walls during the move. Please point out any existing damage to your property before we begin.

10. Damage Claims

Please inspect your belongings and property before our crew leaves and note any visible damage on your paperwork. Submit any claim in writing to cole@jackinaboxmoving.com within 30 days of your move, with a description and photos of the damage. We will acknowledge your claim promptly and work in good faith to resolve it. We may repair, replace, or pay for damaged items, at our option, up to the applicable valuation limit.

11. Dispute Resolution

If you have a concern, please contact us first; most issues can be resolved quickly. As required by Colorado law, for disputes about the amount charged or about lost or damaged goods, we offer you the opportunity to participate in binding arbitration under the rules of the Better Business Bureau or a substantially similar process. Arbitration is your choice; if you accept, we will participate in good faith and be bound by the arbitrator's decision. You may also contact the Colorado PUC with questions or complaints.

12. Assisted Moving Support (Income-Qualified)

Assisted Moving Support is offered at our discretion and subject to availability. We may ask for information to confirm eligibility. Pricing, scope, and availability of this service are confirmed in writing before your move. We may change or discontinue the program at any time without affecting moves already confirmed.

13. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and to provide accurate information when booking or contacting us. All content on the Site, including text, images, logos, and design, belongs to Jack in a Box Moving LLC or its licensors and may not be copied or used without permission. We try to keep the Site accurate, but prices, availability, and content may change without notice, and we are not responsible for errors or for websites we link to.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jack in a Box Moving LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, such as lost wages, lodging, or delay costs, arising from your use of the Site or our services. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Colorado law that cannot be waived.

15. Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless Jack in a Box Moving LLC and its owners, employees, and crew from claims arising from inaccurate information you provide, items you ask us to move that you do not have the right to move, or hazardous items you include in your shipment.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any court action that is not resolved through arbitration will be brought in the courts of Douglas County, Colorado.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page and do not change the terms of a Contract for Service you have already signed.
